Wow another year has come and gone, with that 365 new days we had to make an impact on this world and those around us. That idea is weighing heavily on me as we go into 2016. So as I sit down to think of a list of resolutions that like every year before I really hope to stick to, I’m thinking of more meaningful and impactful goals for myself for the new year.
On a professional level I have three goals for 2016:
-Branch into teaching, which will be a completely different and exciting blog post with the ideas I have brewing.
-As every professional I’m sure strives for a better work / life balance. It’s always improving and always evolving and always something we strive to get just right. Whether or not there is a just right, I’m not sure but I plan to continue the pursuit of balance.
-To touch more hearts through my profession. When I see the look on a girls face after viewing her images, the giddy light hearted look of joy it’s truly a gift. Not just to her but a gift to me as well. I want to share this gift. Exactly how I’m still thinking and praying, but this gift I’ve been given I want to pass on and out and touch the hearts of as many as I can.
On a personal note my goals, have been narrowed down to the three most important:
-To live a healthier life, without the exact goal of losing weight. Simply being healthier, more energetic and well rested not just for myself but for my kids.
-To simplify my life, and rid my family time of distractions and background noise, yes iPhone I’m talking to you. That Facebook post or instagram feed can wait, my children cannot. My marriage and family and home life are more important than any post I might read on social media and it’s time to become more unplugged and content with the quiet.
-To live a more spiritual and peaceful life with the Lord as my cornerstone. I want to bring this relationship into the forefront of my home, marriage, life and motherhood.
There’s a peak into my 2016, I’ll slip, I will fail and I will lose my way. Here’s hoping each time I get back up or back on path to creating a better life for myself and everyone I touch. What are you resolutions for 2016???
