This sweet and active family had to do a bit of finagling to simply be in one place at the same time! When we met up for their shoot, mom had just returned from New York, and the family was preparing to do a service project at their church. I’m so glad we managed to schedule a session though, because a lifestyle session really captured the heart and soul of this family: their tight bond and love for each other. Robert and Irene are very involved and loving parents to Ethan and Rachel, who are both in high school. Daughter Rachel enjoys a diverse range of activities, including robotics, dance, and business leadership. She has an affinity for beautiful things, says mom, adding, “She is very smart, and also loves makeup and cute outfits. She enjoys her studies and has a boyfriend who is a wrestler”. Ethan is an athlete on the football team, also very smart, and enjoys lifting weights and playing video games when he has free time.
For their session, mom was hopeful we could shoot in their own backyard, and I was glad to appease her. Their backyard was so gorgeous, and had so many interesting features, like their negative edge pool, spacious deck and balcony, and modern architecture. Dad even got out his guitar, and I love the easy, casual vibe that kept us all laughing and allowed me to gather relaxed poses and real emotions. As a family, the Williams love playing board games, music, and binge watching their favorite shows on Netflix. I loved what mom said when I asked why they booked this session: “I want photos to capture this magical moment in time”. It’s true; in just a few short years, this bright and kind young people will be leaving the nest. I know their mom (and the whole family) will treasure these images for years to come.
