I wanted to to mention something today… I always ask my seniors how they came across my work, or why they chose me! I know that they have plenty of options among photographers, and trust me when I say it really is an honor to be the one documenting these amazing seniors. One thing I hear often, is that girls want to feel confident and beautiful…but still feel like themselves. We all love a little editing, brightening up our complexions, adding more light, or editing out tiny blemishes. But I think what is so beautiful is that many of the seniors who come to me really do want to celebrate their own, natural beauty. Anna told me that she really saw the natural beauty coming through in my portfolio images, and that is a high compliment. If you’re a senior, I want you to know that here at KDP, we celebrate REAL, and KIND, and CONFIDENT way more than we celebrate a great airbrushing. Because the most beautiful smile is a REAL one!
“What would I consider beautiful? It is having a kind spirit, and having empathy and compassion”, says Anna, “And having a sense of humor!” Anna is a gorgeous (inside and out) young woman from Belton High School. She is very active at her high school, and is involved in the NHS, and the Ralph Wilson Youth Club. In her free time, you can find Anna hiking, kayaking, drawing, and volunteering in her community. Her style is very feminine and elegant with touches of boho-flair, and she enjoys shopping at Anthropologie. Anna hopes to call the University of Alabama her new home after graduation, and wants to earn a spot in their nursing program. After that, she dreams of one day traveling and doing mission work. I know her huge heart and kind spirit will serve her so well in this field!
