the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.

Photographing seniors comes with it’s own sense of whimsy and inspiration. The young people who step in front of my lens all are such amazing dreamers and doers. They can’t wait to change the world, and they’re right on the edge of doing so! It keeps me on my toes, and keeps me thinking of the ways I can also be working towards change and growth. Lauren is such a wonderful young woman. She is graduating from Vandegrift High School, where she is mulling over her college plans, and dreaming of her future. She is part of the National Honor Society, on the student council, and is the social captain on the Legacies Dance Team. In addition, she is part of the Encore Dance Company at 620 Dance Centre in Austin, which is a studio that has been helping shape dancers for over thirty years. Lauren says her favorite memory from high school has been dancing with my best friends on the football field, and says her mom is her role model.
Besides being a gorgeous dancer, she also loves fashion. Her favorite store to shop at is Nordstrom, and cites actress Blake Lively as her fashion inspiration. “When I envisioned my session, I wanted five different looks”, explained Lauren, “I wanted a semi-natural makeup look and unique backgrounds that are pretty and subtle. I had heard from a friend that you did beautiful photos, and then I was able to see some, and they all looked like what I wanted.” After graduation, this girl is headed to Texas A&M University, where she plans to study political science. “In five years, I want to be well on my way to law school”, she explains, “I am very charismatic and love people”. I know she will be successful in whatever she does, and am so grateful I was able to give her the session she dreamed of!
