Sweet, joyful, and thoughtful. That’s Ava! Of course, when you look through her session, those are the first things that come to mind. It was such a joy to take pictures of her, and capture her unique spirit forever (or, as long as digital photos last)! The lighting was gorgeous that day, and we made a point of visiting a number of nature spots to take advantage of it. Ava has a wonderful grasp of her own personal style, and it looks beautiful on her. Personal style is so important, because it’s how you present yourself to the world, and that should represent who you are, inside and out!
So let’s talk personal style for a moment. When I say personal style, I’m talking about the long process you’ve taken figuring out what you like to wear, and what you don’t like to wear. Simple, right? When we put on something we think looks ugly, we feel ugly. And the opposite is true as well! Take Ava, for example. She wore a casual outfit as we wandered the town. She also wore a flowy, frilly skirt out on the grass, away from the bustle of city-life. These are two very different outfits, but neither is better than the other. In fact, they’re both beautiful, and at the same time equal expressions of who Ava is. This is Ava’s personal style!
When you’re developing your own style, you don’t necessarily have to study trends. Those come and go like a vanishing mist, and after they leave, you’re still there. When you’re trying on something, you don’t need to look around at what all the other girls are wearing to decide on what to walk out of the store with. Instead, watch for those things that catch your eye. That cute sun dress, or that pastel blouse with the unusual cut. All those things that you feel beautiful in. I tend to believe that true beauty comes from within. But what you wear on the outside will reflect that, and your outfits will reflect the journey you’ve taken to develop it. For Ava, it was sweet, joyful, and thoughtful.
What’s your personal style?
