As a senior photographer, I try to make sure all of my clients feel exceptionally understood. Especially during the high school years, it can feel overwhelming amid deadlines, college applications, and more, and I have found some teens crumple into themselves during these years. That’s something I want to avoid as a senior photographer, because I want them to walk in confidently to their shoot, knowing I’ve listened and understood all of their desires and hopes! Marissa came to me for her senior session, and I loved hearing all of her interesting ideas; she was hoping for a country-themed shoot, and she also wanted something very fun and lighthearted. “I’d describe myself as uplifting, caring, and independent, and I was drawn to your photographs because of the uniqueness and spontaneity”, explains Marissa, “Sometimes you can feel that a girl is uncomfortable just by looking at the picture or the pose is awkward, but I didn’t see that in yours!” Working with Marissa was tons of fun.
She is a senior at Westlake High School, and is an accomplished Varsity Cheerleader, as well as part of the National Honor Society. In fact, she says, “The first day of cheer practice last week was one of my favorite high school memories, because I saw all my teammates and learned the recent events in their lives!”ย Besides her academic pursuits, she also loves working as a gymnastics coach at Champions Westlake, where I know her bright attitude is a huge asset. Marissa has really enjoyed living in Austin, and says the best part is the abundant outdoor activities. “I am going to really miss my family and friends when I head to college, but I look forward to going. My dream schools are Rice, and the University of Washington, and I hope to major in Neuroscience for now”, she continues, “In five years, I hope to be enrolling in medical school.” With her cute style and sweet spirit, she lit up every shot! Congratulations, sweet girl! I wish you so much success!
