This gorgeous girl is pretty much a triple threat: kind, beautiful, and smart! I love when I get to photograph strong young women like her, and it always encourages me that they will go out and do some good in the world. Pema attends St. Andrew’s Episcopal School, where she’s extremely active in both academic work and community involvement. She’s part of the Youth Innovation Council, China Care, Choir, and peer mentoring, and also spends her time as a STEM tutor and on the board of the Adopteen chapter in Austin. Adopteen is an organization that helps teen adoptees interact and grow, as well as strengthening the adoptive community. Pema describes herself as, “outgoing, compassionate, and smart”, and says one of her role models is her math teacher, who always puts others first.
One of the last times Pema had her photos done professionally was during the winter former, but she said the photographer went pretty fast. She was hoping for a more relaxed and polished atmosphere for her senior shoot, and that’s exactly what happened! She was so wonderful to work with, and her natural beauty shone through. Her personal style is very laid-back (think Brandy Melville), and although her every day outfit would be shorts and a shirt, she wanted to show off a more glamorous and stylish side for her session. One of her favorite places to shop is the boutique Francesca’s, and she loves the preppy look of brands like Vineyard Vines. Although she is quite excited for college life, she adds, “I will definitely miss my family, my friends, and my dog. But, I plan to attend a small, liberal arts college, and study international diplomacy. On my five year bucket list, I hope to go skydiving, travel to Switzerland, and work at a non-profit that helps people.”
Pema, I feel so grateful to have crossed paths with you, and I wish you so much success and joy in your future!
