Hair is a pretty big part of any senior session, and can really add that extra polish to a shoot. Megan had the most enviable, gorgeous brown hair that was styled into stunning curls and then a loose, boho fishtail braid. It really showed off her personality and her fun style, and I loved how every image came out. She is a senior at McNeil High School, where she is part of many honor societies, and has played volleyball for the last six years. “I’ve recently finished up many years of time-consuming volleyball seasons, so now, I am just enjoying being with my family and friends”, explains Megan, “I also enjoy going skiing over school breaks, and I’m really into bowling right now.” Her favorite moment from high school (so far) was driving to Enchanted Rock on a rainy day with a few friends. “I’d say I am pretty goofy around my good friends, and sometimes can come across as shy around people I don’t know”, she adds.
When choosing her senior photographer, comfort and a more “natural” look was important to Megan. During her last experience with professional photos, she felt overly posed, so I wanted to make sure that she felt like herself. “I’ve seen portraits of yours from a few girls that I know, and I loved them. It was very appealing to me to also have the consultations for hair, makeup, and my wardrobe, because I am sometimes challenged by those three things”, she continued, “I wanted fun, urban portraits, and some that were in the outdoors.” Although fashion blogs aren’t something she spends a ton of time on, Megan does enjoy following Madewell and other fashion stores on social media. We achieved so many different looks, and I hope Megan and her mom walked away feeling like the multiple styles all suited her fun personality. After graduation, Megan hopes to attend the University of Texas or the University of Virginia, studying Public Policy and Planning. Later on, this smart and kind young lady plans to attend law school.
