One piece of my editorial sessions that I love is the way I can mix pieces that wouldn’t normally “go together” in order to create lines and forms that pop in an image. Especially during my outdoor sessions, I find I can really dream up super chic outfits against the backdrop of those Texas skies! For this shoot, we utilized three hallmarks of a great styled shoot:
- An amazing accessory: These sunglasses combine form and function for a chic style that worked with a sporty/high fashion look. We added high, heeled boots to amplify a plain shirtdress and keep all the attention on her sleek hairstyle and fun shades!
- A gorgeous location: The lines of this building made for some beautiful architectural details, and elongated the feel of each image. I loved the high windows and the large white brick style sides.
- Interesting lines: A flowing maxi skirt, and a metallic heel added visual interest to the outfit and make this gorgeous model look even more stunning!
My editorial sessions are really important to me: they allow my models to be adventurous and creative. They show off their personalities, and give them a chance to ‘break free’, so to speak. They also allow us to have fun with a more fashion oriented shoot, although we have a blast at our more traditional senior sessions, too! I always feel proud when I see a great editorial session come together, because we both leave feeling inspired. For more information about my sessions, click HERE!
