Finding the right hair stylist and/or make-up artist for your next special occasion or photoshoot requires a little research. Here’s what to look for.
- Look through their portfolio, and ask yourself a few questions. Do they show only one style of makeup? Is it smokey eye after smokey eye or does the artist have a range of looks they can create? A good artist can create a beautiful smokey eye and bridal looks, however, a great stylist can cater each look to their unique client. Sometimes there is more talent revealed in a lighter application than in a fully glam face.
- Quality stylists will display a list of testimonials for review. Read those, how many sound truly genuine and pleased. Are there clients who used that stylist for a job similar to your own? Even better!
- Do they offer service assurances? Contracts, consults, etc? Professionals put these items in place to protect not just themselves and you. If you want a professional outcome, look for stylists who use professional methods.
