Description
Who It’s For:
New Photographers wanting to master “getting it right in camera” and plan on entering the senior market. I think back to everything I didn’t know before starting out, and just winged it until someone told me better. This is a workshop for those who don’t feel that they are at the experienced or advanced level, but are ready to get there!
What we Cover:
This two hour mentoring sessions geared as a crash course for young photographers, where we focus on learning the fundamentals, to take you to the next level. Mentorship time consists of:
Portfolio Reviews: I find group portfolio reviews very beneficial; you learn to pick up on shooting patterns and composition rules. We will each get an idea on areas to work on and concepts to focus on during our shoots.
Gear & Usage Rundown: Learn to get the most of your gear, instead of going into debt off the bat for the newest and flashiest gear. I started my business with an entry level Nikon D3000 and upgraded my gear as I earned income, instead of going into $1000s of dollars in debt for gear I didn’t know to use. It’s not the camera that makes the artist any more than it’s the pot that makes the chef. You will learn to get the best shots possible with the gear you have.
Location & Lighting Rundown, learn the different types of light, how to find it, and how to make it work for you. Which locations work for which aesthetic, looking beyond the obvious when scouting, and finding the hidden gems in your back yard.
It’s a jam-packed session full of questions and learning to push you as a photographer. I hope at the end of our session you feel confident enough in your art to start pushing your business into the next level.
Workshop fee is $350 and a 200-mile radius around Austin, TX applies.
